    Departments - Fire

Clarksville's Fire Department may be somewhat unique in that it is a blend of professional and volunteer fire fighters. Annexations in 1989 included an area that was served by the McCullough Volunteers. Their equipment was acquired by the town and 30 fire fighters became Clarksville Volunteers. They augment the 32 professional fire fighters in the Clarksville Fire Department.

Clarksville's fire fighters are provided many opportunities for training in additional skills. Many of them are certified in water rescue and hazardous materials clean up. All of the fire fighters have been trained as first responders in medical emergencies, providing assistance to Clark County EMS. The Fire Department also carries out community service programs such as providing smoke detectors for residents and support for the Crusade for Children.
